Hot and Humid

As of 7am, there is a mix of clouds across the region, with lower and more dense clouds in far northern sections near the Poconos.  High Pressure over the western Atlantic Ocean will be the major influence of our weather the next few days.  It will move inland over the next day or so and give us a hot upcoming week, with the hottest temperatures so far this summer.

With the exception of a shower or thunderstorm for far northern sections of the area in Northeast PA and northern New Jersey, the rest will stay dry with mainly a mix of clouds and sunshine.  High dew points will make it feel rather humid.  Excessive heat warnings are in effect for the city and all surrounding counties in PA and NJ.  Heat index values are expected to top out in the 95-100 degree range this afternoon.

As for high temperatures, we'll top out in the upper 80's to lower 90's today.  Calm winds to start will become light out of the southwesterly direction.
