July 10th, 2013 Forecast

After the intense heat from the weekend, temperatures are moderating and hovering around the 90-degree mark.  The temperature trend will lessen slightly to more seasonable temperatures heading into the upcoming weekend.  The good news, the ever-present chances of precipitation will take a short sabbatical in the latter part of the week, but we will have another good shot of showers and storms to get through first.

Tonight, mostly cloudy skies will prevail and it will still feel muggy.  Some showers and thunderstorms are expected, but nothing severe but you might want to bring the umbrella with you as you head out tonight.  Lows in the metro in the lower to mid-70's, and also to the south and east.  To the north and west, lows will straddle the 70-degree mark.  Winds will be from the southwest.  Tomorrow, skies will start out partly sunny, but clouds will be on the increase.  Shower chances are better to the north and west but by the evening hours, everyone will have a good chance of seeing some precipitation.  The SPC has a slight risk for tomorrow just west of the Philadelphia metro, but an isolated strong storm can't be ruled out.  Highs tomorrow will range from the mid-80's to lower 90's.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph, but they could be stronger in some storms.

Thursday looks cooler, but more dismal, with showers and thunderstorms moving through all day.  Temperatures down to a more moderate mid-80's.  Skies will clear by Friday, with more sunshine and seasonable temperatures.  High on Friday in the mid-80's and lows in the mid-60's.  Another jem on Saturday with high temperatures in the mid-80's under partly sunny skies.  Sunday looks okay too but there is a chance of a few showers by late afternoon.  I don't think Sunday will be a complete washout, but still keep an eye to the sky.  Sunday's highs in the mid- to upper 80's.  It'll feel noticeable warmer by Monday with temperatures in the upper 80's and a slight uptick in humidity, but still partly sunny.  By Tuesday, we'll be back meeting with the 90-degree mark under hazy sunshine and a few clouds.
