Sunny, Hot and Humid

Its a very warm start this morning as temperatures are in the mid 70's for most of the region as of 7am.  High Pressure over Virginia will provide lots of sunshine today and hot temperatures.  It will slowly move west into the Ohio Valley over the next few days and give us a heat wave.  This week is normally considered the hottest week of the year and it will certainly live up to that.

It will also be quite humid and with dew points continuing to be in lower 70's, heat index values will be over 100 degrees in part of area, especially in and around the city.  Excessive heat warnings continue for the city and surrounding suburbs.  Highs today will top out in the lower and middle 90's on average for all areas.  The hottest days of the week look to be tomorrow through Thursday as temperatures will be in the middle 90's.

With the heat and humidity this week, it cannot be stressed enough to keep yourself hydrated, especially if being outside for long hours or doing any kind of exercise.  And its best to do any exercise during these hot days either in the early morning hours or in the evening, after 6pm.
