Scattering Of Thunder Today
A trough and disturbance combo are working through the region today, with the trough pushing south this morning with scattered showers and storms associated with it. The early showers will push through over the next couple of hours, leaving a bit of a lull for the midday and afternoon. As the trough slides south, a disturbance pushes east along it and helps agitate the atmosphere for a thunder threat later on today.
Some of the storms that fire will be strong, perhaps even severe in a spot or two, with the best chances south of the city. Storms probably fire up after 3 or 4 PM and will be scattered or in a broken line as they move east and east-southeast.
Otherwise, it will be a bit breezy at times and moderately mild as temperatures will top the lower and middle 80's through the region. The west breezes will prevent much of a sea breeze from kicking in at the Shore except right at the immediate boardwalks.
