Near record cool is in the forecast for Allentown (record low on Friday is 42) and Reading (44) tonight. While Philadelphia's record low is 48 degrees and probably a bit too low for what we're projecting, it's definitely going to be a cool early taste of Fall in the Delaware Valley overnight. Winds will diminish after sunset and with clear skies, temperatures will bottom out in the 40's in the outlying areas, with low 50's in the city overnight. Philadelphia's projected low of 53 will be the lowest we've seen since late May.
Friday features a healthy dose of sunshine. After a crisp start, expect temperatures to bounce into the mid 70's by day's end...could be a bit cooler than that northwest of town but many of us will be in the 73 or 74 ballpark by day's end. It'll be a fantastic afternoon in the region.
