Shoving Humidity Out, Bringing Comfort Back

The cool front has pushed through the region. While temperatures are still relatively mild out there this morning, largely in the 60's and even low 70's, a northwest breeze is funneling in lower humidity throughout the Northeast. That lower humidity will gradually include cooler conditions as temperatures today only climb into the middle and upper 70's by day's end.

It will be a breezy day -- northwest winds will be sustained in the 12 to 18 mph range, with higher gusts possible throughout the day. We could see some 30 mph gusts in spots. Skies will vary between partly and mostly cloudy (as depicted above with the pockets of gray for clouds), with a better chance of sunshine to the south and southeast of the city.

Today really is a transition day -- the "core" of cool moves in tonight and lingers through Saturday night, with Saturday being our coolest day in the region in a while as highs struggle to reach 70.
