Weather Rewind: September 15-21, 2013
Temperatures last week averaged 4.6 degrees below average for this time of the year, only achieving one above average day in the stretch (Saturday) and one average day (Friday). Our coolest September morning to date occurred on the 18th, with a low of 48 degrees. It was also the earliest sub 50 degree morning since 1990 around these parts, with some frost reported in a few cooler suburban environs plus in the Pinelands. Philadelphia featured four mornings this past week with lows below 55. If you like cool weather, last week was certainly your friend.
Philadelphia picked up 1.10" of rain during last week (some additional rain from last night's storm fell after 1 AM Sunday and gets counted to Sunday's total), the lion's share falling on Saturday night.
Regionally, temperatures were pretty cool through the region of late. Between the 14th and 20th, Philadelphia's average temperature was six degrees below average and some spots were cooler than that! Atlantic City's average temperature was 8.1 degrees below average in that same time frame.
