Brief Step Back In Temperature
After yesterday's sojourn into the mid 80's, temperatures will be a notch less warm this afternoon around the region. I can't use the term cooler because going from the mid 80's to around 80 isn't really cooler given we're still several degrees above average.
Clouds will be on the general increase through the day today. While it's still plenty mild out, we have a bit of a frontal boundary lurking across the region. This boundary will provide an avenue for some showers to track to our north later tonight and early Friday before it lifts north. We'll see an increase in clouds progress through the day -- mostly of the mid and high level variety -- but there should be a good deal of sunshine around the region for most of the day.
Highs this afternoon should reach around 80 in the city and points south, upper 70's to the north and west. Winds will generally be light and from the east around five miles per hour.
