October 25th, 2013 Forecast
This evening looks like we'll have another cold one on tap. If you live in the Lehigh Valley, you are under a Freeze Watch, meaning any plants you have outdoors are susceptible dying if left uncovered. While low temperatures are expected to rise slowly throughout the week, the National Weather Service expects the growing season to end around the area shortly. If you can, cover your plants with plastic or move them indoors. Lows tonight will range from the lower to upper 30's. Areas in the Poconos are not under any type of warning as of yet, but mainly because they have already experienced their hard freeze. Winds will also be gusty at times, from the West at 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow, another mostly sunny day with highs in the lower to mid-50's, but with blustery winds at times, it may only feel like the mid- to upper 40's. Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Highs on Monday edging closer to the 60-degree mark for highs and in the lower to mid-40's for lows. Highs on Tuesday jumping into the lower 60's with partly sunny skies to start out, but by nightfall, clouds will be on the increase. Wednesday will see some precipitation throughout the area, in the form of scattered rain showers. While the day won't be a total wash-out, with high temperatures in the mid-60's, it will feel like a raw day. Thursday will see both sun and clouds with highs in the mid-60's.
