Recapping September 2013

September 2013 ended up just over a degree below average in what was a rather tranquil second half of the month after a bouncy first  half of the month.  Temperatures were rather tranquil -- hell, the whole weather pattern overall was tranquil with a couple of exceptions after the first couple of weeks of the month.

September marked the fourth month of below average temperatures this year -- joining August, March, and February in the mix of below average months in 2013. This occurred despite a 94 degree high on September 11th, which came in just a few degrees shy of a record for the date.

You can thank the two mornings below 50 degrees and the dry weather in place that helped provide some cool nights around the region. Those sub 50 degree starts on 9/24 and 9/18 provided the first September with such a result since 2001.
